Sunlight filters through the trees, casting a golden glow over a quiet picnic scene. A happy couple sits together, laughter weaving through the air like an unspoken language only they understand. Beneath them, spread across the soft grass, is the Harrisonburg quilt—its pattern carefully re-created by Wendy Sheppard from photos of the original. Named for the Virginia Quilt Museum’s location, it holds a legacy of artistry and tradition. But today, it’s simply a backdrop for love—a canvas for a moment that won’t be remembered for grand events, but for the feeling of warmth, safety, and joy in a world that seems to pause just for them.
